imaginary window

this morning i found myself standing in what i'm sure will one day be...
one of my favorite spots.
gazing out of one of the windows.
i wondered if the workers could see the lump in my throat...
or sense my quiet tears of joy.
such a long winding road to get to this point.
one day soon...
when the walls are up & the windows are in...
i want to be able to think back to this moment...
remember how far we came...
remember how truly grateful i am!

if the ground dries out like it should... after all that crazy rain...
they'll be pouring the slab monday!
oh happy day!

had to have it... tuesday

who doesn't love being told?

 

i know i've mentioned before... my love for paper products... it goes deep.
i love all kinds of paper.
put inspirational words on the paper... oh my!

i tell you... one of these days............ :)...... oh just a dream... but you never know.

anywho...
i fab.

i love to get their messages each day...
where they share all different kinds of finds.
aLL kinds of cool things!
and at special prices... offers... too!

recently design orange... a colorful & modern paper & accent line was featured.
 i thought these lunch notes were so fun.
colorful and yet perfectly simple.
just right.

a napkin... a scratch piece of paper... in a pocket or lunch bag... works great!
it's the thought after all.
these sure are fun to have around though... to pass on.
little cards of cheer.
heck... they're so pretty... i say frame 'em up!

 i of course wanted you to be able to give a smile too...

i'm here.
been spending crazy amounts of time in my car.
filled up my tank three times this week!
that't nuts.
oh my goodness...
it is certainly one of the big changes coming back to houston...
the traffic and the sheer size of the city.

 i've been odsessing about the exterior finishes on the house.
oh my word.
i have to say... s.c.a.r.y!
obsessing and yet having fun all at the same time.

met with the company that will be making our front door.
i think i'm going to love it.
yes!
hoping to have a cad drawing of it today... that should be neat.

i've also been eating like the food i'm putting in my mouth contains no calories.
what so ever.
i think i'm a stress eater.
yes... think so.
 
i have to say... i've been so torn lately... with my blog.
 what to share... what not to share.
 it used to be i had so much i wanted to show and tell.
never knew how much being in this gloomy apt was going to affect me.
 and my blog.
goodness.

going to continue though...
 it's where i am right now after all.
where my life is.
where my feet are planted.
and you know... it may be a bit different than i thought... would have expected...
it is a gift and blessing just the same.

today...
i'm pretty darn excited it's friday.
not having to set the alarm tomorrow morning... ohhhh... yes!
getting to sit & sip... instead of rushing out the door.
hoping you're giddy too.
that your weekend holds just what you need too.

rain delay

we had great rain yesterday.
i mean... all day... rain!
loved every minute of it.
absolutely pouring at times.
lightning... thunder... the whole bit.
and boy howdy... the area sure can use lots of it.
 

picking out the stone the other day...
was a mix of "oh i think this is it" to everything beginning to look the same.
 some good things...
i did find a trend in my likes...
it sure was fun...
and i have a picture in my head of how i want it to be.
just have to get there.
put all the pieces together.
thank goodness i have a designer for a sister & a cousin who's taste rocks!
they both have been so helpful.
they're going to be sO tired of me!

for some reason i look like i was grimacing in that pic...
must be the lovely flattering angle... ha... anywho...
far from it... i was in a happy maze.

to our surprise...
they started clearing the lot early!
which worked out sO great with all the rain we got.
gave us a step forward in exchange for the step backward... from all the rain.
bound to happen.
we'll need to wait a few days til the lot is dry... dry... before the pad can be poured.
that's ok though!
it will give me more time to obsess over the floor plug placement!
ha!

btw... i love "had to have it tuesday"... hope you do too?!
i'm not dropping it... just so happened the last couple of weeks i missed it.

somebody please pinch me.
i caught myself a few times yesterday asking "is this really FINALLY happening"?

i will not bore you with all the details... i'll just say it's been loco!
the stumbling blocks we encountered... there were many & they were big.

i am so glad we were determined...
 to see this through.
so thankful God gave us the strength!

i drove up to the lot yesterday morning to find them tagging the trees!
they're tagging the trees!!!!!
that only means one thing...
that lot is about to be cleared & prepped for foundation!

it makes my heart skip.
puts a lump in my throat.
that something tangible is finally taking place.

thank you pretty pines for watching over... shading... our special spot.
we promise you'll be used for good things.

oh boy... i never thought i'd be so happy to see big 'ol tractors... chainsaws and such!
bring 'em on.
start 'em up.
let them cut... dig & prep.
