countdown in a pinch

IMG_0402
hAppY December!
it’s HERE… it really is!

wanting SOMETHING of an advent… a countdown…  for the girlies.

 IMG_0404
yep… that silly ladder again.

IMG_0401
wanted to use what i already had in the house…
not to mention i had a sick little bee at home… so i was stuck…
had to scrounge around see what i could see.
tags… check… BIG check… always have oodles of those!
ribbon… twine… check!
dvd/cd sleeves… check!

yes… it IS a bit silly… not ideal…
but i think it does the trick… serves the FUN purpose.
plus… i think in a way… may be far fetched…
they KIND OF look like like ornament balls… kind of.

let the countdown begin!

inside each pouch holds a LITTLE something…
maybe a special note… a sweet & yummy treat… a tiny toy…
all ready to be opened on it’s day.

IMG_0413
i think it’ll be fun.

IMG_0407
only twenty four days now… wow!
this sure puts things in perspective!

CHEERS on this first day of December…  here’s to unwrapping a REALLY good one!

Oh, YOU! I so wish we lived closer so that your beautiful creativity and spirit would rub off on me.

PS--my husband wants to splurge and buy us a camera for Christmas -- I told him I'd check with my uber-talented friend in Wyoming :)

Okay that is just about the cutest countdown idea I've ever seen... and I've been around baby, let me tell you. When it comes to Christmas countdowns with calendars and bad chocolate, I've seen everything...

I love your ladder! I am going to steal this idea for next year. I made a cloth advent calendar and it was way too much work. I think your idea is perfect for a stress free holiday. I love how beautiful and simple the ladder looks. So pretty. You always take such lovely photos, too. Eye-candy galore.

Carissa, that is adorable!! I love the way your brain thinks.

Love this clever idea! Love using what I've got around the house....and use my ladder for all sorts of fun stuff too!

What a FABULOUS idea! I love it and I may steal it - well, next year - too late for this year. I have a ladder I took down this summer that was over my island and now it's just sitting in the garage waiting for another assignment. It was one of those moments that took my breath away - had it over my island for 16 years and decided I needed an update but didn't expect to be so sentimental. It was like taking down an old friend! Now I will have a place of honor for my old friend! I know you must think I'm a lunatic right now - perhaps so, haha!

Blessings,
Lisa Leo
