adventure awaits

our bags are packed & we’re on our way.
for an adventure!
i like to think of it like that…
since it’s a place i’ve NEVER been!
and we are packing light!
so light in fact…
i am leaving my computer BEHIND… it will NOT be in tow!
can you believe?
i can hardly believe myself.
but…
this is an adventure i want to fully soak it in & ENJOY!
i have had a lot of anxiety the last few weeks about being away from the girls.
for so long.
frankly…
i would have dragged my feet forever & never scheduled the trip.
never.
really.
out of fear.
silly… fearful nonsense.
you know…
God is SO good!
He has blessed me with amazing friends and family…
they have reminded me of the TRUTH!
that God is leading the way.
He is in control!
”God didn’t give us a spirit that makes us weak & fearful.
He gave us a spirit that gives us power & love.”

the girls are safe & are going to have a BALL!
they will be on their own little adventure in fact!
BIG fun with an adventure extraordinaire… aka gran-mama!
i am looking forward to several things from this adventure.
some good ‘ol fashioned r&r.
lots of fun.
and some big inspiration.
as for WHERE we are going…
do you have any guesses where it might be?
come on… guess!
and for a dash of random…
i ran around the house really fast & grabbed these teeny peeks…
just for fun!
oh… and there MIGHT be a hint or two as to where we might be.

Oh I'm so confused. I see Hansel and Gretel, Paris, HANDS, yarn, clogs - which make me think Holland. Then there's the four leaf clovers...Ireland?? So you are definitely going over seas...I think:) Regardless of where, have a wonderful time. So excited for you. Can't wait to see and hear all about it Carissa.

You're going to Mexico!!!! I always get that nervous feeling about leaving the kiddos behind, too. But it's always SO wonderful to get away with my honey! Have a fantastic time. Your girls are going to have a ball without you. Everyone's being brave!!

I love your blog and have been following for awhile, but this is my first time to say hi! I just had to reach out and say that I got the opportunity to go away last weekend with my sister, and I thought I was going to come undone the week before with fear and anxiety. Literally, physically stressed and anxious. The hardest part was that it is so unlike me. I didn't even want to share it with anyone because I just didn't even understand it myself. So why I am writing all this to you? I was just so relieved to read your post and hear that I am not the only one who has experienced those feelings. Knowing that God would cover me, I just tried to focus on Him in the days leading up to leaving. Once I was gone, I was fine and the weekend went by way too fast. As I was sitting enjoying the trip at one point I just became so overwhelmed by His peace. He is so good, and is bigger than all my my fear and doubt. Thanks for posting your feelings and making me feel a tad bit more normal. I hope you have a blessed journey and come home refreshed and renewed!

for the same reasons! it is so hard to leave a child with "needs" behind!
