denver delight

our happy trails… our trip to the city… that city was denver!
the mile high city!
i think i forget every time JUST how great denver IS!
lots to see lots to do.

the BEST part of our trip?
i got to meet a friend face to face!
that sounds so funny!
a blogging friend… whom i’ve known… gosh… a year & half i’m thinking!
she was REAL… a real live gal sitting right there in front of me!
it was SO fun!

i got to meet the TRULY awesome Rachel…
of lost in the attic with cupcakes!

let me tell you…
she is SO fun!
teeny tiny… cute as all get out… and SO personable…
JUST like i thought… KNEW she would be!
the exact personality… the same spunk… it was all there!

and of course she showed up with surprises…
made me the cutest market bag ever… that i LOVE…
AND… she said she wanted the girlies to have something.
look at the ornament she “whipped up”…
”not my gumdrop button”!
uh… hello… i am lucky to sew on a missing button!
from her photography… her 7 Gypsys creations… her sewing…
and all the great in between… her talents run deep & wide!
if you have not been by her blog… go… you’ll see!

btw rachel… the girlies adore him!
thank you SO much!

i could have turned the breakfast into lunch and chatted all day with her.
thank you rachel… that was too fun… next time… more time!

the girlies favorite thing i think about the weekend…
aside from the shopping of course…
pushing the elevator buttons and going up and down the escalator!

from the sushi… the slippers in our hotel room… to seeing my cupcake friend…
it was ALL yummy!

back home last night…
it was the perfect ending to a perfect day… and weekend.
or should i say… the perfect BEGINNING!

i feel so BLESSED!
so LUCKY!
and i am SO looking forward to all this year has in store!

it’s FriDaY… we made it!

there were moments that got hairy right?
felt like… “uggggggh” come on weekend!

all i know… the MORE hectic the week…
the more grateful FOR the weekend!

i am loving today!

feeling LOTS of good!
feeling LOTS of thankfulness!
feeling a good little kick from my coffee!

it’s going to be a great day!

rolled in some blue

so what do you do when you’re having a blue day…
you pull out some BLUE paint!

had found this table at a second hand store…
solid wood… heavy… good bones… wasn’t WILD about the black though.
LOVE black pieces… just wasn’t in love with THIS piece being black.
so… it was time to paint.

my favorite thing… the casters we added.
WHAT IS IT about little wheels… i LOVE them.
instant fun!

plus… since this is for our family room downstairs (basement)…
and we get crazy on the wii down there :)…
the table just rolls right out of the way!

awwwwwe…
now when we hang out…
our feet will be propped up on something bright & a bit more fun.

it even makes our vintage box… that i SO love… that hold the remotes… POP!

i just love pops of color! don’t you? it makes me happy i think!
my day started out blue… AND ended blue… a GOOD kind of blue!

now… i need to put some casters on MY FEET and get rolling… lots to tackle!

there are mornings you just need a little love.

when things didn’t go so well in the mayhem of the “get to school” rush.
when you felt like you could burst into tears.
when you go to the gym and IT kicks your butt instead of YOU kicking it.
when you just don’t feel yourself.
when you feel overwhelmed by the mess in the house.
when you feel a bit let down.

there are little things…
super simple little things…
that can bring a smile!

i reached in to grab a handful…
and i had forgotten that there are little bits of love scattered throughout the box.

YES…
i know… SILLY…
but sometimes it IS the little things that can reach out and bring you a smile!

i hope…
there are MANY little things throughout your day that jump out
and bring YOU a smile too!

evening glow

awe…
i just love the glow inside your home when the sun sets.
when lamps here and there light your path around each corner.
when your little treasures seem to come alive.
when you feel the closing of the day… and the hope of tomorrow.

there is a coziness that comes with the night.

an inner peace.

and there is something about a sunday evening.

a different feeling.
things are coming to a close.
but things are also just beginning.
the week is new.
and so are the possibilities.

one thing i know for sure…
today is monday AND…
monday means back to school…
which means mama gets two hours of free time…
AWE!

monday…
i know you like to be packed with a lot of punch… can be a bit crazy… but…
i am ready for you!

oh and…
there were quite a few of you that emailed me asking about the petticoat skirts…

TODAY
is the day when bloggers everywhere are joining together in a campaign to buy

as i was reminded again last night
by those tiny wet footprints fresh out of the BATH…
we… are truly BLESSED.

those footprints represent so many children…
that today need clean water to simply SURVIVE.
4500 mothers bury their children EVERY DAY due to contaminated water.
not by choice… they simply do not have access to clean water like we do.

today... November 13...
is a chance to do a small part…

we went and danced a bit yesterday.
enjoyed our last warm day… or at least they say.

a chance to get our annual “cheeeeeeeese”!

had a quick thirty minutes before the sun set.
came home with over 500 pics… in high hopes that i got a few keepers.
ya just REALLY never know until you see them on that screen.

i think there will be some goodies.

but you know really… in the grand scheme of things…
even though i hoped… really hoped… there were some keepers…
most important…
they danced… they laughed… they were silly…
and whether or not even one shot was a keeper…
their little dancing feet will always be keepers… always etched in my mind!
